Clashes in Diyarbakir

Once again police attacked protesters in Diyarbakir. Tanks, water cannons and tear gas were used to disperse a large crowd protesting both against the Election Board decision to exclude BDP supported candidates from contesting the elections on 12 June and the trial of Kurdish politicians.

A 15-year-old protester named Remzi Cali was shot and wounded by the police. Police attacked indiscriminately young, old and women.

In the meantime several excluded candidates have collected the papers required by the Elections Board in order to present their candidacy once more.
