Clean up operations of YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) in Kobanê are continuing. At least 15 members of ISIS gangs were killed in clashes in the last one day.

YPG Press Centre reported in a written statement that the Kobanê resistance against the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued for the 169th day.

The statement said that YPG/YPJ fighters carried out attacks against ISIS gangs in east Kobanê, destroying a vehicle and killing 5 members of the gangs in an action near the village of Akbas. Arms of the gangs were also seized.

Three other members of the gang groups were killed in another attack targeting the gang groups deployed near the village of Eydanê. One other attack by YPG/YPJ left 2 gang members dead and 2 others wounded in the village of Gultepe.

YPG Press Centre said that the village of Degîrmen in south-west Kobanê has been cleansed of ISIS groups and liberated as a result of an operation by Defense Units.

According to the statement, ISIS groups that launched an attack on the recently liberated village of Cibil Ferece to the west of Kobanê were repelled from the village following clashes that erupted upon an immediate and strong response by YPG/YPJ.

Five members of ISIS gangs, including an amir, were killed in clashes with Defense Units who also seized the arms of the gangs in the area.
