A commemoration event was held at the Berlin PYD office for Silava Remedan, the girl from Dirbesiyê killed by a Turkish drone.
A commemoration event was organised in Berlin to pay tribute to young student Silava Remedan. The event started with a minute’s silence, after which PYD Berlin representative Deham Ibrahim addressed the crowd.
PYD Germany Representative Xebat Şakir commemorated all those killed in the Rojava Revolution in the person of Silava Remedan and said that the Rojava Revolution must be supported even more. Şakir said: “The Rojava Revolution is a democratic nation revolution which started 10 years ago. Today, Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Armenians are building a new society together. Syriacs are almost nonexistent in Rojava today. The Rojava Revolution is the revolution of all peoples. Thanks to our martyrs, we are able to strengthen our system and keep our hopes alive.”
After the commemoration event for Silava, a public meeting was held with the participation of Rojava families.
On 18 August, a Turkish drone attacked girls playing volleyball at an educational center, killing four and injuring eleven. On 1 September, Silava Remedan passed away due to her severe injuries.
