Coronavirus deaths in Iran reach 77

The coronavirus killed at least 77 people in Iran. It was determined that approximately 2,500 people were infected with the virus. A minister also proved positive to the virus.

The coronavirus, which first appeared in China and then spread to many countries worldwide, continues to kill in Iran.

In less than two weeks, at least 77 people have died in Iran while the number of people infected is over 2,000.

Making a statement on the situation, the Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed that the number of people who died in the country due to the virus rose to 77.

Iran's deputy minister of health Aliriza Chief said yesterday that the total number of cases increased to 2,336.

The deputy minister also said that 435 people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus throughout the country have recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Minister proved positive to coronavirus

It was announced that Riza Rahmani, the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of Iran, proved positive to the coronavirus. 

It had been previously stated that deputies and officials had also proven positive. Among the dead were two prominent figures, Expediency Council member Mohammad Mirmohammadi (State media referred to him as a confidant of Khamenei) and Hadi Khosroshahi, Iran’s former ambassador to the Vatican, as well as a recently elected member of parliament.
