Diyarbakýr 6th High Criminal court banned the banners and posters hanged on city center walls for the Newroz celebrations to start on 18 March in the city.

The ban on banners was put on the grounds that the 'An azadî, an azadî (Either Freedom or Freedom) slogan on leaflets is adopted by Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK)’s new resistance movement.

The court also claimed that the logo of three matchsticks on banners ‘spread propaganda for the PKK’.
