Court sentences 19 suspects in Ankara massacre trial

Ankara Regional Court of Justice confirmed sentences for 19 defendants in the Ankara Massacre trial.

The sentence given to the 19 suspects who were tried and handed down sentence in the Ankara Massacre case - a part of the political genocide operations - was upheld by the Ankara Regional Court of Justice.

In the trial for the Ankara Station Massacre, the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 21st Criminal Chamber approved  101 times aggravated life sentences for 9 suspects. Other 9 suspects received sentence for being a member of a terrorist organization.

The Criminal Department, rejecting the objection made against the convictions by the suspects, recognized their sentences.

Deciding to continue the detention of the defendants, the Criminal Chamber also rejected the demands of the lawyers of the complainants.
