Dangerous tension between opposition group and Kurdish administration

Supporters of Kurdish opposition group continued protests against South Kurdistan administration on Saturday. Local media reports five demonstrators wounded by Kurdish pesmarghas.

Thousands of protestors gathered together after midday morning at Derki Sera neighborhood In Suleymaniyah. The protestors attempted to march to Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) and clashed with local pesmarghas. At least five protestors were wounded.

Demonstrators chanted slogans against Kurdish demonstration and called an end to corruption in government offices.

Clashes between Kurdish groups started after a retired Kurdish pesmargha attempted to set himself on fire in February 16.

At least two were killed and tens of protestors were wounded since then.

The supporters of Kurdish administration set Goran Movements offices in Hewler, Diyala and Dohuk.

Former Prime Minister of Kurdish region Nachirvan Barzani criticized attacks against Goran offices and said the attacks are not legitimate and ugly.

He called for an immidiate investigation to find those who are responsible for the incident which led the protests.

Barzani failed to mention an investigation about the protests two days ago where security forces opened fire against the demonstrators and killed two.
