HDP Amed Parliamentarian Candidate İdris Baluken stated that the goal of the bombings was to create chaos and massacre hundreds of people. Baluken stated that Prime Minister Davutoğlu and President Erdoğan are responsible due to the statements they have been making recently.

Imrali Committee Member and HDP Amed Parliamentarian Candidate İdris Baluken spoke to IMC TV on the bombings that targeted the HDP rally in Amed attended by hundreds of thousands of people. Baluken stated that 2 explosions took place, one in a trash can and another one in front of a power transformer. Baluken added that the second explosion had nothing to do with the power transformer and happened soon after the first bombing.

Baluken stated that they invited the rally participants to gather in front of DBP City Headquarters in order to prevent further provocations. Baluken emphasized that the rally was attended by hundreds of thousands of people and the attacks aimed to create chaos in the city. Baluken said that rally participants’ discipline and common sense prevented the development of a terrible scenario, and wished a speedy recovery to everyone who got injured.

Baluken explained that no government official contacted them until now and described Davutoğlu and Erdoğan’s recent statements targeting HDP as the cause of these attacks. Baluken criticized the police’s decision to not close the road that lead up to the rally site even after midnight last night, which made it easier for provocateurs’ to plant their bombs. Baluken ended by saying that the attacks aimed to create chaos and conflict that would take the lives of hundreds of civilians, and called on the people of Amed to keep their calm, discipline, and common sense despite the attacks.
