The action has reached day 16 on the first day of 2019. The hunger strike has been launched to support HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Guven who is fasting for 55 days to demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Hunger strikers have been visited by many activists from all over Europe since the launch of the action.

Visitors from Geneva, England, Poland, Czech Republic and German cities of Pforzeim and Freiburg said that they support the action.

A special event was organized in the Democratic Kurdish Community Center to celebrate the new year. Koma Berxwedan supported the action with resistance songs.

On the first day of the year, Roja Sor a Kurdistane members carried out health checks on the activists.

Roja Sor a Kurdistane president, Alexandre Koroglu, said he had found symptoms on some of the activists that may lead to permanent damage. Stating that the weight loss is at normal levels, Koroglu also reported loss of vitamins and minerals found in the activists.
