DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) has issued a call for urgent solidarity with Silvan where the siege and offensive by Turkish state forces continue for the seventh uninterrupted day. DBP has also urged the state to call off the security forces involved in the siege and give an immediate end to the ongoing practices.
'EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE ACTION TO HINDER A PROBABLE MASS KILLING'
Releasing a written statement on Silvan where attacks by state forces are getting heavier, DBP called upon the people, of Amed in the first place, to take action in order to stop the offensive in Silvan and stand against the repression and genocidal practices of the AKP state.
DBP directed another call to all the NGOs in Amed to take urgent action in order to stop the mass killings and human rights violations committed against the Kurdish people.
'WE CAN'T GET PROPER INFORMATON'
The statement by DBP noted that the curfew in Konak, Mescit and Tekel neighborhoods of Silvan remains for the seventh day, since the imposition of which 4 civilians have been killed in ongoing intensified attacks.
DBP said they cannot get proper information from the three neighborhoods where water, electricity and phone services are cut off and people cannot meet their most basic needs even.
The party voiced concerns over a probable increase in the death toll caused by state forces in the district where clashes get intensified from time to time amid a siege by armored vehicles and tanks, in addition to an intense activity of helicopters over the region.
The statement recalled that a group of DBP co-mayors, HDP deputies and party executives has already left for Silvan today, who include HDP Deputies Feleknas Uca and Çağlar Demirel and HDP Amed district co-chair Ömer Önen.
'THE STATE MUST END THE CURFEW IMMEDIATELY'
Party of Democratic Regions urged the government to immediately end the curfew in order for life to get back to normal, and to call off police forces and military vehicles in the district.
DBP also called on all caring circles to display solidarity with Silvan people.
