The Islamic Republic of Iran has hanged dozens of Kurdish political prisoners up to date. Some 14 prisoners in Iranian jails have recently started hunger strike against the troture and transfers they suffer from.

It is Ferzad Kemanger's letters that tell the best what is being lived in Iranian prisons. Kemanger sheds light on the savageness in the “Avabûna Stêrkan Mizgîna Hilatina Rojê ye” book which has been compiled by Dersim Oremar and published by Aram Publishing House.

Death Corridor is a concept describing the days prisoners sentenced to death wait for their execution. Waiting in the Death Corridor is better than dying.The Zulfiqar sword of Ali, which the so-called Islamic Republic and Alevis/Shiite take for sacred is the name given to the tool of torture used in Iranian prisons. We do not know what is being lived in the jails in Iran today. Even the closest relatives of political prisoners are being ill informed. One should read, understand and tell about the book “Avabûna Stêrkan Mizgîna Hilatina Rojê ye” which serves as the most significant document about what political prisoners live.

The book includes the letters of not only Kemanger but also of Ferhad Wekîlî, Elî Heyderiyan, Şîrîn Elemhulî and Mehdî Îslamiyan who were hanged along with him. Executed female prisoner Şîrîn Elemhulî says the followings in her letter; "The torture you inflicted on me has become the nightmare of my nights. I have a continued headache caused by the blows I received, and sometimes I cannot even realize what is going on around me. This torture has given me another gift, which is my rapidly deteriorating eyesight. I suffered all sorts of torture in custody, shocked and scourged, so that my body doesn't feel the pain any more. They would bring me back to life with cold water when I fainted. Each hour became a part of my torture life".

Dozens of prisoners waiting in the "Death Corridor" are suffering from the same brutal torture which they face in every moment they spend in prison, not only during interrogation. The ideal of political prisoners is beyond all the torture they suffer.

Kemanger says the following in a letter of his; "I am jailed for months now. They want me to surrender my will to them. The walls of your prisons cannot constitute an impediment between me and my people, nor can it prevent my love for my people. They were determined to make the sun and sunlight meaningless through the darkness of the prison. They want to kill me today. I have decided with my own free will to donate my heart after my death to someone waiting for a heart. With love and strength, I want to present my heart to a child, doesn't matter who it is, I just would like him to live a life away from betrayal and watch the stars in the sky. Let my heart beat in the body of another person, doesn't matter which language it speaks and which color its skin is... Let my heart beat in the body of a child so that I can scream with its mouth, and in its mother language. I want to be a wind in order to spread the love and strength of the people to the entire universe".
