Death threats target Colombian Senator Cepeda

Colombian Senator Ivan Cepeda said he has received death threats against him and his family for their participation in the judicial process that led to the house arrest of former President Alvaro Uribe.

Colombian Senator Ivan Cepeda said: "I have received threatening messages against my family, my lawyers, my collaborators, and against me."

Threats against the senator have increased since the Supreme Court of Justice ordered house arrest for Colombia's former President Alvaro Uribe.

"The Prosecutor's Office must investigate and find out who are issuing these threats," senator Cepeda said.

The Puebla Group condemned the threats against Cepeda in a message on Twitter. "They won't be able to stop the path of justice and truth with fear," the political forum said.
