Death toll at Gaza Strip tops 29,000

According to the new balance sheet announced by the Hamas Health Ministry on the 136th day of the war, the death toll from Israeli attacks has exceeded 29,000.

The Hamas Health Ministry stated that 29,92 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7.

Stating that 107 people were killed in the last 24 hours, the Ministry announced that 69,28 people have been injured since the beginning of the war.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Al-Maliki told the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that his people are suffering "colonialism and apartheid" under Israeli occupation.

"Some people are angry at these words, but they should be angry at our reality," Al-Maliki told the UN's highest court.

Starting today, the ICJ is holding hearings on the legal consequences of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories since 1967. 52 countries have been called to testify. These hearings have been described as "unprecedented".

The US, Russia and China will address the judges during the week-long session at the Peace Palace in The Hague.
