Death toll from coronavirus rises to 30 in Turkey

9 more people have died of the coronavirus in Turkey today, while 289 more people tested positive.

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced the latest figures regarding the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Koca stated that 9 more people have died of the coronavirus today, bringing the death toll to 30. According to the minister, all these were elderly people.

In addition, 289 more people tested positive for the virus on Sunday, with which the total number of confirmed cases rose to 1,236.

The minister said 20,345 people have been tested so far, adding that tests are being conducted as much as possible.

“We are losing more lives and the number of confirmed cases is growing. We are confronting the pandemic with each infected person taken under treatment. Let’s stay at our homes and not take a risk,” he said.

The minister also added; “When there was no case in our country, we said there was none. Now, we are explaining the situation day by day. With our transparency, we are inviting you to take measures. This country will not be defeated by this threat.”
