Details of the meeting the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) delegation for İmralı had with Deputy Prime Minister Yalçın Akdoğan yesterday are coming out.
The delegation for negotiations is expected to be broadened with the participation of DTK (Democratic Society Congress) Co-Chair Hatip Dicle and Democratic Free Women's Movement (DÖKH) member Ceylan Bağrıyanık.
Besides, the five prisoners held in İmralı prison will be replaced with five new ones whose names have been conveyed to the government which has also given green light to the establishment of a 16-person monitoring board.
Speaking to ANF about yesterday's meeting, HDP Group Deputy Chair Pervin Buldan said the impression they were left with was a positive approach by the government towards the demands they highlighted.
Buldan said they were told that there was no obstacle to the fulfillment of these demands. She noted that their delegation would be informed regarding the answers to their demands and the date of the next visit to İmralı after Akdoğan shared the results of the meeting with Prime Minister Davutoğlu.
Buldan stressed that; "This is not only a matter of going to the island. What matters is to ensure that visits to İmralı take place in line with the mechanisms needed to be established."
Buldan said they were in the expectation that these mechanisms are constituted and put into practice as soon as possible. "We hope this happens before the next visit to İmralı", she added.
