DEM Party nominates co-mayoral candidates in three more western cities

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) decided to enter the elections with its own candidates in the center and all districts of İzmir, Muğla and Balıkesir provinces in western Turkey.

Having announced on 9 February the candidates for 16 metropolises, 40 provinces and 3 districts for the local elections on 31 March, the party announced the co-mayoral candidates for 14 more provinces on 17 February.

According to a new decision taken by the DEM Party for the local elections, the party will run its own candidates in İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and all districts in all three cities.

According to the Mesopotamia Agency, the DEM Party will nominate Akın Birdal for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. The other co-mayoral candidate has not been finalized.

Co-mayoral candidates for Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality were named as Mehmet Rauf Kocaman and Nazlı Baybas, while Yusuf Uludağ and Candan Süsoy were nominated for Muğla.
