The long march that started yesterday morning in Geneva with the motto “Freedom for Öcalan, Status for Kurdistan” concluded with a rally in front of the United Nations (UN). During the march through the Geneva city center with the banner “Fredom for Öcalan, Status for Kurdistan”, the activists carried posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and flags of PKK, KCK, YPG and YPJ and chanted “Freedom for Öcalan”, “Terrorist Turkey” and “Dictator Erdoğan”.
The march continued with great enthusiasm and the activists called attention to the importance of Öcalan for the peoples of the Middle East, pointing out that Öcalan’s freedom means survival or annihilation for the Kurdish people.
Swiss people supported the march by clapping throughout the day and the activists passed out flyers to draw attention to the isolation imposed upon the Kurdish leader.
The first day in the two-day long Long March concluded with a rally in front of the UN. Speeches in the rally underlined the International Conspiracy against Öcalan has been voided in the current state. The speeches called on the UN to take action against the conditions of isolation Öcalan is in.

Meanwhile, a committee met with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Turkey unit in the name of the long marchers and pointed out the conditions of isolation Öcalan is in. The committee submitted a file to the officials and demanded the UN play a role in the freedom of the Kurdish leader.
The march of Kurds and allies will continue today in Lausanne.
