Demirtaş sends voice message: End of an era in Turkey

HDP’s Presidential Candidate Selahattin Demirtaş said one single vote can determine the fate and added that “Everybody must work very hard.” Demirtaş said, “This will be the end of an era in Turkey. An era of oppression and tyranny.”

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP’s) hostage Presidential Candidate Selahattin Demirtaş shared a voice message over his Twitter account today.

Demirtaş’s message is as follows:

“We are in the home stretch. There are mere days, mere hours left. I would like to thank everybody who ran a brilliant campaign despite obstacles and limited resources.

The situation shows that the country will go to the ballots at a very critical junction. So much so that even a single vote can affect the fate of Turkey and society. All must work very hard.

And we must defend the ballots and the votes with the same resolve. I believe that democracy and defenders of democracy will prevail on June 24. An important result will emerge and we will see the end of an era in Turkey through the elections. An era of oppression and tyranny will come to an end. The rule of law, justice, peace, trust and prosperity will be procured in a more relaxed environment this way.

So I expect all friends who work in the field and everybody else to defend their votes and the ballots to the very last minute with this awareness, until official results are declared. Whatever our business may be, in the next few days we must all devote all our time to the campaign and election security.

I would like to thank all who campaigned, labored and put their hearts in. I send them my sincerest love and greetings.”
