“We will shatter fascism and lead the struggle for freedom to victory” the imprisoned leader of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Selahattin Demirtaş said in a message to Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) in Istanbul.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş sent a written message to Peoples’ Democratic Congress’ 8th General Council in Istanbul and said that the movement for democracy and freedom will shatter fascism and lead the struggle for freedom to victory.
“The oppressed peoples continue their historic struggle for solution and salvation, not only in Turkey, but in all lands which are under oppression, cruelty and fascism, especially in the Middle East. (…) The experiences in Turkey, the Middle East and Rojava took the historic struggle legacy to a level that it can be a revolution model for all humanity” Demirtaş said.
HDP Co-chair called upon HDK to establish People’s Councils everywhere from villages to cities to overthrow the one-man regime and pave the way for self-administration of the people.
“I salute you with the trust that we will lead the struggle for freedom to victory and shatter fascism” he said.
HDP Co-chair Demirtaş was arrested on 4 November 2016 by AKP regime along with HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ and other MPs.
