Police raided the "Democratic Solution Tent" in Dersim. While a woman was wounded and taken to hospital during the raid, Dersim Mayor Edibe Sahin remarked that the solution platform has been targeted but the democratic struggle of the Kurdish people will not be blocked by anyone.
Dersim Police Department teams carried out a raid at around 04:00 this morning on the "Democratic Solution Tent" in Dersim which was put up at Seyit Riza Square on March 20. While the tent was blockaded by police and special operations teams during the raid, citizens chanted slogans “Pressures cannot intimidate us”. Making a search at the tent, police confiscated some banners while reportedly nobody was taken into custody.
Since March in many cities "Democratic Solution Tents" have been put up as part of a civil disobedience campaign. Four the demands from the Kurdish people taking part in the campaign: "the end of all political and military operations”, “the release of political detainees”, “lowering of the 10 percent election threshold”, and “the right to education in one's mother language”.
