VIENNA
Kurdish youth occupied the Austrian state TV channel ORF building in the Austrian capital Vienna in order to draw attention to the intensified isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. In response to the protestors’ request, ORF media advisor listened to the protesters who informed the officials about Öcalan’s condition. After the protest, Austrian police searched the protestors and checked IDs.
HAMBURG
Youth in Germany’s Hamburg city occupied the famous St. Michael's Church and hung a banner from the church tower. The protestors hung a large poster of Öcalan and demanded the immediate end of the isolation of Kurdish People Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The protest lasted an hour and ended with police intervention. Civilians showed support to the protestors by applauding, and the police escorted the protestors as they left the church.
SALZGITTER
People of Kurdistan in Germany’s Salzgitter/Lebenstedt town organized a march in order to protest the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The protestors met in Stadtmonument Square at 16:30 and held signs saying “Freedom to Öcalan, Status to Kurdistan.” Protestors distributed pamphlets in German and chanted slogans such as “Long Live Leader Apo”, “No Life Without the Leader” and “Terrorist Turkey.”
AURICH
A committee of the Viyan women’s assembly visited Ostfriesische Nachrichten Newspaper in the German city of Aurich. Kurdish women presented the information file NAV-DEM had prepared on the condition of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and called upon the newspaper to be more sensitive on this issue.
GÄVLE
NCDK Youth Commission organized a biking event in Gävle, Sweden, in order to protest the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Kurdish youth carrying photos of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan biked for 10 kilometers and reached the town of Valbo. Here, the protestors distributed pamphlets on the Turkish state’s massacres in North Kurdistan and returned to Gävle after receiving the interest of drivers and locals.
LONDON
Members of the Kurdish People’s Assembly met in front of the British parliament and walked to the headquarters of the British Conservative Party after making a statement to the press. A racist Turkish citizen was removed from the protest area after he tried to block the path of the protestors.
ST GALLEN
St.Gallen Asrin Deniz Women’s Assembly sent faxes to the CPT for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Assembly members protested the isolation of the Kurdish Leader and called upon the CPT to take action on this issue.
