Demonstrations for Öcalan continue in Europe

MUNICH

The three day long march led by the Women’s Movement and Ciwanên Azad in Germany’s Bavaria state for the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan ended with the August 15 Initiative celebrations. The march started in Ingolstadt, continued through Munich state parliament and ended in Odeonsplatz.

Women’s Movement, Ciwanên Azad, Die Linke, DKP Munich and NAV-DEM representatives gave speeches in the demonstration. The speeches declared the demonstrations will continue until Öcalan is free and the August 15 Move was saluted.

COLOGNE

Kurds living in Cologne, Germany held a sit-in protest in front of Cologne Messe/Deutz Bhf to call for an end to the aggravated isolation imposed upon Öcalan. The protest was led by women and called for all to rise up against the isolation.

The statement read here said, “The demonstrations will continue until Reber Apo’s health and safety are guaranteed and Reber Apo is free.”

MARSEILLE

People demanded freedom for Öcalan and celebrated the anniversary of the August 15 Move and the Manbij victory in Marseille, France. French people also showed interest in the demonstration held in Vieux-Port Square.

Demonstrations are planned every day in the city and an info stand for Öcalan will be opened in Vieux-Port Square tomorrow at 19.00 led by Arin Mirkan Assembly.

PARIS

The isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan was protested in French capital Paris simultaneously in various locations.

Democratic Society Center of Paris, Villiers le belle, Evry, Ciwanên Azad Paris, TEV-CAND and the Kurdish Women’s Movement put up banners on six bridges over the River Seine protesting the isolation imposed upon Öcalan. The banners read “Freedom for Öcalan” and “Freedom for Öcalan is freedom for us all” and were met with great interest from the public.

In Normandie, Ciwanên Azad Paris, Drancy and Creil Democratic Kurdish Society Centers put up banners that read “Freedom for Öcalan” on bridges over Paris A1 highway in protest of the isolation.
