Eight administrators and members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) were taken into custody in Mersin on March 2 on the instruction of Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The detainees were referred to courthouse where an additional arrest warrant has been issued, while the reason for the arrests was not disclosed.
Those detained in operations in Mersin are as follows: HDP Mersin provincial branch former co-chairs Zelal Önen and Mustafa Işık, Akdeniz and Toroslar district co-chairs Münir Güzel and Cabbar Karabey, party members Zozan İlgen, Rafiye Erkul, Precarious Workers’ Association (GİŞ-DER) chairperson Abdülselam Kutlu and TJA activist Beritan Önen.
