The extraordinary general meeting of the Federation of Revolutionary Labor Unions of Turkey (DISK) has begun on Saturday with tension due to protests against the DISK management.

Members of the Emekli-Sen Union gathered in front of the meeting hall to protest against the policies of the DISK.

Nakliyat-İş Union Chairman Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu, making the first speech at the meeting, called attention to the management crisis within DISK and remarked that the meeting had been organized with an intention to come up with a solution to the problems of the federation.

The meeting was interrupted as tension continued to rise when protestors were denied permission to enter the meeting hall.
