Diyarbakýr to protest against raids in South Kurdistan

Following the bombing by Turkish war planes on the regions of Zap and Xýnere yesterday, bomb loaded helicopters have today crossed the South Kurdistan border.

According to local sources, the helicopters landed on Hakkari Mountain and the Commando Brigade got ammunition there before moving towards South Kurdistan.

The air and ground attacks by Turkish and Iranian armies on the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, which caused 2 deaths and 9 injuries, are to be protested in Diyarbakýr.

“Diyarbakýr 5 April District People Initiative” has announced a protest tomorrow, Saturday, at 16:00.

The people will walk in front of "5th April" District Council and protest against the air attacks and the increased military operations.

Pointing out at the deads and injured people as a result of the raids, in its statement, the "Initiative" indicated that the increasing operations are in fact deepening the deadlock in the Kurdish question, the risk being of dashing hopes for peace.
