Democratic Society Congress (DTK) issued a written statement on Antep massacre and declared a 3 days long mourning.
In its statement, DTK emphasized that the war and chaos in Kurdistan and Turkey have intensified over the past year, and the AKP government adopted policies of massacre, oppression and denial in order to continue its power. DTK underlined the importance of the recent KCK declaration calling for a transition from war to peace, and said that the massacre in Antep was the result of the AKP government’s denialist and genocidal policies against Kurdish people in Rojava and other parts of Kurdistan.
‘AKP IS RESPONSIBLE’
DTK stated that even if ISIS gangs carried out the bombing in Antep, the AKP government was responsible for the attack, which claimed the lives of tens of people and injured more than 100 civilians. DTK said that the attack against a wedding in Akdere Neighborhood targeted all Kurdish people, condemned the bombing, and offered its condolences to the families of the people massacred in Antep.
3 DAYS LONG MOURNING DECLARED
Lastly, DTK called upon all peoples, non-governmental organizations, democratic grassroots movements and international powers to not stay silent and express their democratic objections, and declared a 3 days long mourning.
