DTK: Erdogan ordered the Roboski massacre

While commemorating the victims of the Roboski massacre, the DTK drew attention to the fact that it was President Erdogan who gave the order.

The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) issued a written statement to mark the 8th anniversary of the Roboski Massacre.

The statement said that "The Prime Minister at the time, Erdogan, in his first statement to the public declared that he ordered the bombardment on Roboski which resulted in the end of 34 innocent people. So the massacre was planned and the Prime Minister who gave the order actually confessed it."

The statement also said: "Although 8 years have passed since the massacre, no action has been taken against those issuing the order and those executing it. A new file has been added to the many murders 'carried out by unknown'."

Roboski is one of the many massacres against our people. After the Roboski massacre, the attacks against the freedom and democratic struggle of our people increased. Massacres have been carried out in Sur, Cizre, Nusaybin, Şırnak, Yüksekova, Suruç, Amed, Antep. It is evident that all these practices are aimed at suppressing, intimidating, liquidating and subjugating the struggle of the Kurdish people for freedom and democracy."

The statement added that "the history of struggle of our people has shown very clearly that no pressure and massacre has been able to break the will of our people who instead continued to fight with determination. For this reason, the struggle for freedom of the Kurdish people has become the hope of all the peoples of the Middle East."

The DTK said that "no matter how hard they try to avoid judgement, those responsible for this and the other massacres will eventually be brought to justice."

The DTK also underlined that the call for justice for Roboski "has become an international call. This is because national and international solidarity have increased. We invite all our people and the international community to join the events and commemorations to be held on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the Roboski massacre."
