Eight day of protests under police blockade in Mardin
Yesterday, the elected HDP people were attacked by the police while leaving the party headquarters.
Protests continue against the AKP government’s seizure of HDP-run municipalities in Amed (Diyarbakır), Mardin and Van and appointment of trustees in the place of dismissed mayors on August 19.
On the eight day of protests in Mardin, HDP members and deputies were again surrounded by the police as they started to march from HDP Mardin headquarters to the Karayolları Park in the city center.
Tensions arose due to the police siege and obstruction. Journalist were moved away from the area and not allowed to cover the demonstration.
The resistance of HDP people continues, so does the police siege.
