Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yıldız answered the questions of the journalists before he attended a signature ceremony for a cooperation protocol with the Hacettepe University on mining. Yıldız said that in line with the deals with the central Bagdad government and the Kurdistan Regional Administration, Turkey has oil blocks in the foothills of Mount Kandil, adding that he believed that the resolution process would enable this to happen.
“In line with the agreements we signed with the Bagdad government and Kurdistan Regional Administration, we will search for oil in Hındırın and Çoman fields in the area. I believe that the resolution process will pave the way for new working fields in the energy sector”, said the Energy Minister.
