An explosion occurred during the passage of a police vehicle in the village of Sefrei, in the Riyazi town of Kirkuk.

According to security sources, the explosion on Sunday morning killed 8 police officers and left 2 others injured.

While reinforcements were dispatched to the scene following the explosion, reports are coming through of an armed fight between the police and ISIS mercenaries, one of whom was reported killed.
