Families of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and two other inmates in İmralı F Type High Security Prison have taken their way to the island Monday morning to pay visit to their relatives.
Kurdish leader's brother Mehmet Öcalan, Hakkı Alphan's brother Zülfü Alphan and Cumali Karsu's sister Pervin Oduncu have arrived in Gemlik early Monday after their visit application was approved by Turkish authorities.
They were off to the island after being taken to Gemport Port with a gendarmerie vehicle.
Answering journalists' questions before leaving for the island, Kurdish leader's brother Mehmet Öcalan said that they could make a statement to the press after their return if authorities brought them back to Gemlik.
Referring to the situation of the Kurdish leader, Öcalan pointed out that the position of the Kurdish leader, imprisoned on an island far from people, could lead to ups and downs in the ongoing resolution process. "We believe he could be more helpful in the event that his place of arrest is changed", he said.
Asked about the Lice attack, Öcalan said, "The truths on the incident are already explicit, as you know better than us. I believe the situation could be more positive if you write the truths on it".
Kurdish leader last met with his brother on 12 June, while the families of other inmates in Imralı prison have been denied permission to visit their relatives since 18 February on the grounds of "defective coaster" and "adverse weather conditions", despite the fact that the meeting between them and their relatives is supposed to take place once in two weeks.
