The Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) said that Turkey and Iraq launched a genocidal attack against the Yazidis in cooperation with the KDP, calling for solidarity with the Yazidi people in their just struggle.

“Under the influence of the Sunni political Islam mentality, the Turkish state and the Iraqi state want to commit a genocide against our people by escalating tensions in Kurdistan. In cooperation with the betrayal of the Barzani Family, Turkey and Iraq seek to eliminate all the achievements of our Yazidi people,” the FEDA said in a written statement on Tuesday.

“The Yazidi Kurds, followers of an ancient faith in Mesopotamia, are currently facing new massacres with the support of Kurdish betrayers. The US and NATO, which keep the Bashur (South Kurdistan) and Rojava (West Kurdistan) airspace open to the Turkish state, as well as the UN and the Council of Europe which remain silent towards invasion attacks, are also to blame for giving green light to Turkey’s unlawful and barbarian incursion. The Iraqi state is currently attacking Şengal in parallel with the Turkish army which keeps bombing Şengal continuously. Şengal is the sacred place of the ancient Yazidi Kurds.

We call on all oppressed peoples to stand by the just struggle of the Yazidi people who protect their land, language, culture and holy places against massacres and genocides.

We call on all Alevis to take a stand and unite around a common life against the AKP-MHP fascist attacks and occupation.”
