President of Federal Kurdistan Regional Government, Massoud Barzani’s representative Felakettin Kakeyi called on the PKK and the Turkish state to lay down arms and to declare indefinite ceasefire.

Kurdistan Women’s Union and other associations held a commemoration ceremony in Hewler on the 40th day of Roboski massacre where 34 Kurds were bombed by warplanes on 28 December 2011.

Speaking at the ceremony, Turkish-Kurdish Amity Association Chairman Felakettin Kakeyi said that; “The people who lost their lives in this event were the victims of an unfair war. I hope we won’t suffer a similar pain again. We ask the Turkish State to apologize to the families of people who were killed in Roboski massacre.”

Pointing out to the ongoing war between PKK and Turkey, Kakeyi remarked that; “40 thousand people are reported to have lost their lives in the process of this war. Roboski massacre was a result of the war that Turkey still continues to conduct. This war should be stopped now.”

Calling for a ceasefire between PKK and the Turkish State, Kakeyi said; “Through dialogue and negotiation for a solution, both sides should together solve the Kurdish problem in North Kurdistan.”

Kurdistan Socialist Party member Mohammedi Hacý Muhammad, making a speech on behalf of all parties in Kurdistan region, underlined that; “In the present proper conditions for the unity of Kurds, capital cities Baghdad, Ankara, Tehran and Damascus should allow a decision on the destiny of Kurds.”
