Fierce clashes continue on 5 fronts in Kobanê

The attacks launched by the ISIS terror organisation on the canton of Kobanê in Rojava (West Kurdistan) on 15 September and the resistance of the YPG are continuing. The YPG announced that fierce clashes are continuing on 5 fronts, saying 7 of its fighters lost their lives yesterday.

The YPG Press Centre issued a written statement yesterday regarding the clashes, saying: "our forces are resisting the gangs attacking on 5 fronts with tanks, artillery, rockets and heavy weaponry with great determination."

The YPG said attacks were taking place to the south of Kobanê in the villages of Qumçe, Qilhaydê, Jadê and Kunxeftar, to the east in the villages of Korik, Îdaniyê, Badik and Metînî, and to the west in the villages of Degîrmen, Boraz, Zerik, Talik and Jibilferaj.

7 YPG fighters died

In its statement the YPG said 7 of its fighters had died on the 5 main fronts while preventing the advance of the gangs:

"It has not been possible to ascertain the casualties suffered by the ISIS gangs in these clashes, but 2 of our fighters fell while putting up heroic resistance in the village of Qumçê and 5 in the village of Korik."

The attacks on Kobanê come after the gangs suffered heavy losses in Rabia-Sinjar-Jazaa and in Tel Hamis.

On the 4th day of clashes around Kobanê, the gangs fired rockets into the town and bombarded villages to the east, south and west of the town.

Turkish state supplying munitions to the gangs by train

The Turkish state is directly involved in the conflict by supplying munitions and logistic 'assistance' to the gangs by train. Local sources in Girê Spî (Tel-Abyad) said on Wednesday that during the last 2 days that consignments had been delivered by train on the line between North Kurdistan and Rojava to a military base used by the gangs opposite the village of Silîb Qeran.

People from North Kurdistan will march to border

In response to this blatant support by the Turkish state, Kurds from North Kurdistan are mobilising to defend Kobanê. Today at noon thousands of people will march from Suruç to the border area in the village of Ovan and secure the border.
