Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Office released a statement about the Operation Cizire Storm to liberate from terror the remaining area outside of Syria’s liberated Cizire and Eastern Euphrates lands and to clear the eastern rural areas of Deir ez-Zor.

The statement by SDF Press Office is as follows:

“Within the framework of the Operation Cizire Storm announced by our forces yesterday, our factions under Deir ez-Zor Military Council have reached the Medînit Siniyê (Industrial Zone) in Deir ez-Zor.

Our forces engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorist organisation, and managed to enter Medînit Siniyê center afterwards, while the gangs tried to hinder our forces’ progress by bomb-laden vehicles and suicide bombers.

ISIS gangs have fortified their defense by multiplying the number of tunnels, planting mines and preparing bomb-laden vehicles in Medînit Siniyê. Their activity was, however, weakened by our forces that are acting and progressing professionally.

Violent clashes are going on in the streets of Industrial Zone where Syrian Democratic Forces are advancing.”
