Fighters of the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have cleansed the Tabqa Airport of ISIS gangs late Sunday evening in the third phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate Raqqa and surroundings.
The airport was used by the Syrian regime as a military airbase until it was taken by ISIS from the regime forces in 2014's August.
Tabqa airbase is the second airport liberated by SDF who had taken control of the Minix Airport south of Azaz last year.
The strategic airport was being used by ISIS as a major center for training.
