Five detained in Amed

Five people were taken into custody in Amed (Diyarbakır) early in the morning.

Turkish police carried out house raids in Amed (Diyarbakır) this morning as part of an investigation launched by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The operation targeted Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly (PM) member Eşref Mamedoğlu, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Party Assembly (PM) member Ramazan Dengiz, Rosa Women’s Association member Suzan İşbilen, HDP former administrator Hasan Kale and DISK Genel-İş Union Diyarbakır No:1 Branch Chair Hasan Hayri Eroğlu were taken into custody in the operation.

Rosa Women’s Association member Gülistan Nazlıer was not found home to be arrested.

The detainees were taken to the anti-terror branch of Diyarbakır Police Department and the number of detainees is expected to increase.
