Five people detained in Ankara and Urfa

Two people have been taken into custody in Urfa and three in Ankara.

The AKP regime of Turkey continues its political genocide practices against the Kurdish people, their elected representatives and opposition circles in the country.

URFA

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa provincial organization executive Mahmut Kılıç had his house in Haliliye district of Urfa raided by the police Saturday morning. While Kılıç was taken into custody, police also seized the computers and mobile phones of his family members.

ın Karaotlak (Karamezra) neighborhood of Haliliye district, gendarmerie forces carried out a house raid and detained a youngster by the name of Resul Şeker because of his social media posts. Şeker was taken to the district gendarmerie command and handed over to antiterror police to be referred to Urfa.

ANKARA

In capital city Ankara, Turkish police raided the house of family of Ethem Sarısülük, who had been murdered by the police during Gezi uprising.

Sarısülük's brother İkrar Sarısülük announced the police raid on is social media. Accordingly, police conducted a search in the house, seeking Mustafa Sarısülük who is living in Europe.

Author Temel Demirer was taken into custody in Istanbul in line with an instruction from Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office. Demirer will reportedly be taken to Ankara.

As part of the operation, two other people, Aslı Bayramoğlu and Heval Elçi, were also taken into custody.
