Police took five Kurdish students into custody. The students are members of Democratic and Patriot Youth (DYG; Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) youth organization). They have been taken into custody after raids carried out by police on their dormitories and houses in Dersim at 5.00a.m. today. The detainees Ejder Doðan, Þükrü Yurtsever, Gökhan Gümüþ, Nuri Tiryaki and Naci Ataman, who are student at the Tunceli University, were taken to the Dersim Police Department for interrogation.

Meanwhile, there was another blanket house raids held by police in Kurtalan, a district of Siirt where five more students were detained. This time these students were high school students and detained for writing slogans in favor of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on the walls.

Mazlum Sak, Ýbrahim Alçiçek, Mahmut, Yaðýz and Muhammet Gergin are currently in Kurtalan Police Department.
