Five work-related deaths in Van in last 4 months

The five men had been forced to migrate to western Turkey and worked in construction sites.

Bodies of 5 workers have returned to Van in the last four months.

The last worker to die on the workplace was Adem İşler. He lost his life while working in a construction site in Isparta province in western Turkey.

In the last two years, 25 construction workers from Van have died on the work place. 


Especially during the summer and autumn construction season begins and Kurdish youth are forced to go to work to the big cities of Turkey.

Due to the economic policy implemented by the Turkish state in North Kurdistan, Kurdish youth are forced to work in difficult and precarious conditions in Turkey's cities.

Many are the accidents at work, and some are fatal. 



In the last 4 months, 5 men from Van have lost their life. All were working in construction sites and suffered fatal accidents.

One of these young people is 27-year-old Adam İşler from Ercis district of Van. He worked in Isparta and fell from the 6th floor.

He was married and had two children and had been working in construction in Isparta for months because he could not find a job in his hometown.

He was killed on November 22 were buried in the village of Hesenevdal in Ercis.
