Fourth phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates continues at full force amid fierce clashes between YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS gangs.

Footage by ANF from the ground shows SDF fighters stationed near a village targeting ISIS gangs, whose positions in the village are also hit by international coalition aircraft.

Fierce clashes continue in all the areas where SDF forces are advancing towards the ISIS stronghold Raqqa. Fighting is taking place to the east, west, north and south of the city. SDF has liberated two more villages north of the city during the past 24 hours.

The villages of Hemrat and Medar were cleansed of ISIS gangs following intense clashes throughout Thursday. SDF fighters destroyed a bomb-laden vehicle and a DShK-laden vehicle of the gangs that attempted to attack the Hamrat village on Friday.

SDF forces have recently gained control over the cotton factory northeast of Raqqa, and they are now 3 km away from the city from this front. The fighters that liberated the Hamrat village are 6 km away from Raqqa from this front. Of the other liberated villages, Xirbet Xan is located 8 km to Raqqa, Rafia hamlet 12 km and Andulus village 18 km.

SDF also liberated the village of Safsafah to the east of the western Tabqa front. This village is 29 km away from Raqqa. The Jirqa village of the Karama town on the same front is 15 km from Raqqa.

The fighters have defused at least 300 mines during the search and sweep efforts they carried out in the villages they have cleared over the past 10 days.

The fourth phase of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates that had been launched on April 11 was suspended for a short time on April 23, and relaunched on May 9. The declaration by the Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room said that all the villages around the Raqqa city will be liberated and preparations will be made for the liberation of the city during this campaign when SDF will consolidate the siege on ISIS positions and make advances on the city from the surroundings.
