Şiyar Koç, former co-chair of HDP Nusaybin (Nisêbîn), in the province of Mardin (Mêrdîn), who lives in the rural neighbourhood of Mendere, was taken into custody. The politician had just returned from the earthquake zone where he went voluntarily.

He was detained after a raid on his house earlier this morning.

Koç was detained as part of an investigation launched by the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and was taken to the Mardin Provincial Security Directorate.
