In the early morning hours, there was a raid in student dormitories at the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) in Ankara.

Four students Meziyet Yıldız, Fırat Çağlar, Melike Balkan and Emrecan Konyalı were arrested in the operation which took place shortly before the planned graduation ceremony at the university. The dorm room of the former chair of the ODTÜ student committee, Özgür Gür, was also searched.

The ODTÜ is considered a university with a left-wing tradition. In the last year students of the ODTÜ were arrested again and again and faced charges on the grounds that they insulted the President.
