French Democratic Kurdish Council goes to congress in Paris

The French Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-F), the umbrella organization of Kurdish associations and institutions in France, held its 10th congress in Paris.

Delegates from Marseille, Lyon, Montpellier, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Draguignan and Strasbourg attended the congress held at Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center.

A poster of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan was hung in the hall, along with the slogan "Rêxistinkirina gelê me tolhildana şehidan û pêkanîna armanca wan e" written on the main banner on which the photos of the 6 revolutionaries killed in Paris were printed.

The CDK-F co-chairs opened the congress and paid tribute to Evîn Goyî, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl, who were murdered in the center on 23 December 2022, and said that the congress was dedicated to them.

KCDK-E Council member Murat Ceylan opened the discussion about the current political process. In this session, evaluations of the systematic isolation and freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the guerrilla resistance and the 100th anniversary of Lausanne were made.

Ceylan said: “We must increase the resistance until the necessary steps are taken to ensure the physical freedom of Leader Apo. We must unite with the spirit of guerrilla resistance and thwart the current Turkish attacks together. We have no choice but to resist and win altogether. We must get rid of this system, which has been ignored for a hundred years."

The congress continued with the reading and evaluation of the work reports of the various areas. In the evaluations, the current deficiencies in the work of 19 assemblies and institutions in France were expressed and solution proposals were suggested for the new period.

Şahin Polat and Xane Akdoğan were elected new CDK-F co-chairs.
