Germany to give Erdoğan 78 million Euros in October

Despite the crisis and disputes between the German government and Erdoğan's regime it came to light that Germany is planning to provide Ankara with 78 million Euros in October in the context of the refugee deal.

Despite the crisis between Berlin/Brussels and the Erdoğan regime the flow of money to Ankara is not slowing down. German chancellor Angela Merkel started to claim on a rolling basis shortly before the general elections of the 24th September that "even harsher reactions against Turkey are to follow." But in defiance of those messages lots of money is still continuing to flow unceasingly from Germany's budget into the pocket of Turkey.

Answering a motion of the Green Party recently, Merkel's government stated that 78 million Euros will be paid to Turkey in October in the framework of the refugee deal between Ankara and the European Union.

A recent news article published by German newspaper Bild stated that the amount of money paid to Ankara by Berlin will reach a total of 314 million Euros. The European Union is set to pay 3 billion Euros to Turkey as part of the refugee deal signed with Turkey in March 2016.

427 million Euros out of that amount is being covered by Germany. Only some days ago Germany and Austria made an appeal and said: "The support of the European Union for the Erdoğan regime should be halted." Still, contrary to that call the EU Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources, Günther Oettinger asked to stick to the financial aid for Turkey as designed by the refugee deal.

MINIMUM 10 BILLION EUROS PAID TO ERDOĞAN IN ONLY 3 YEARS

The European Union has already paid 23 million Euros to the AKP regime from March onwards and is planning to provide the AKP government with a total of 4 billion and 450 million Euros from 2014 to 2020.

Regardless of the crisis and disputes between Berlin and Ankara, the European Union still paid 23 million Euros to Ankara since March, what was met with widespread coverage in the German media. By this the amount of money the European Union has provided the AKP regime with in 2017 reached 190 million Euros.

Apart from this Brussels already paid Ankara 10 billion Euros within the last 3 years alone based on Turkey's EU membership negotiations and the refugee deal. Out of that amount 3,3 billion Euros have been paid between 2014 and 2016. With this amount, Turkey has become the non-EU member country to receive the highest rate of EU aid.
