HBDH calls on people to join forces on 1 May

HBDH said in a statement: "It is our main duty to raise the struggle and organization against fascism. We must raise the flag of the United Revolution against imperialism, capitalism and fascism and deepen this struggle."

The Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) Executive Council issued a written statement on the occasion of May 1, International Workers' Day.

The HBDH said: "The AKP-MHP fascism is a regime hostile to working class and laborers and exploitsthem. The coronavirus pandemic which is affecting the world in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan makes things even more difficult for working people and the oppressed.

It has been proven once again with the pandemic that capitalism is not a human-centered but a profit-centered system."

The statement added: "With the pandemic crisis, more than 1 million people were laid off, at the same time, 2.5 million people were put on free leave. Despite the economic crisis, the ruling power, which does not cut back on armament and military spending, does not give up its expansionist and occupation policies. The fascist government is insisting on military operations in Syria, Rojava, South Kurdistan and Libya."

Noting that this year May Day will be celebrated under lockdown in many places, the HBDH said: "The United Revolutionary forces must correctly evaluate the May 1 process, insist on creating means of struggle that will meet wide masses and mobilize them against fascism. It should organize May 1 in accordance with its historical meaning and should be appropriated in all areas on this basis. Let's combine the spirit of Newroz with that of 1 May in a united revolutionary struggle."
