HDP announces election manifesto in Ankara

HDP has announced the election manifestos for the parliamentary and presidential elections in a meeting in Ankara.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi - HDP) has announced the election manifestos for the parliamentary and presidential elections in a meeting held in the Hilton Hotel Ankara. The meeting hall has been adorned with banners of the main slogans the party will use in the elections: “Change with You”, “Change with Women”, “Change with the Youth”, “Mırovekî baş Demirtaş”, “Em livirin dikarın” and “One vote for Demirtaş one vote for HDP” HDP Co-chairs Pervin Buldan and Sezai Temelli, as well as MPs, are present in the meeting.

Peoples’ Democratic Congress (Halkların Demokratik Kongresi - HDK) Co-spokesperson Gülistan Koçyiğit, Democratic Society Congress (Demokratik Toplum Kongresi - DTK) Co-chair Bedran Öztürk, Revolutionary Party (Devrimci Parti) Chair Musa Piroğlu, SYKP Co-chair Tülay Hatimoğluları, ESP Central Committee Member and SKM Spokesperson Beycan Taşkıran, DBP Deputy Co-chair Hacer Özdemir, Greens and Left Party of the Future Co-chairs Naci Sönmez and Eylem Tuncaeli, Kezan Konukçu from SODAP, representatives from organizations that announced support for the HDP (EMEP, EHP, HTKP, Halkevleri, Sosyalist Meclisler Federasyonu, Partizan, Alınteri, Kaldıraç, DSİP, TÖZ) and Sinan Çiftyürek from the Kurdish ÖSP are present in the meeting. Other participants include academics and writers like İsmail Beşikçi, Fikret Başkaya, Baskın Oran and Ayşen Uysal.

The manifesto meeting started with a presentation, and the names of 11 arrested HDP MPs were read out loud afterwards, as well as names of Kurdish politicians under arrest. The crowd applauded as the names were read.
