HDP's Buldan: The policy of the trustees has ended

HDP co-chair Pervin Buldan addressed a large crowd in Amed as the elections results were coming through.

Buldan saluted the HDP deputies Dersim Dağ, Murat Sarısaç and Tayip Temel, who are on hunger strike since 3 March demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Buldan greeted the people in front of the provincial building together with HDP co-mayor candidate Hülya Alökmen Uyanık.

“Dear people of Amed, young people, women, welcome. This evening we are witnessing a historical process together. We are witnessing the great victory and success of Amed.” This success is your success. This success is the success of women. It is the success of young people. It is the success of Kurds.”

Buldan added: "We have overcome all obstacles, we overcome every difficulty and we won. We attribute this success and victory to all our friends, who are on hunger strike, like Leyla Güven.”

Kurds and democratic forces won

Buldan continued: “Today with the election results, our people gave the following message to the rulers: we don’t accept isolation. The policy of the trustees has collapsed, has ended.”
