HDP campaigning despite attacks

The electoral campaign has been stained by attacks and detentions

The HDP continues to organise electoral rallies and meetings all over the country despite attacks, repression and arrests. The last attack was registered in Hatay.

Visit in Kars

HDP Kars Provincial organization members and Kars candidates, Arzu Moco and Bishar Abdi Alınak met the people in the city and surrounding villages. 
The villagers complained that in 16 years of power, the AKP didn’t get water nor build roads to many villages. 

Erzurum

HDP hopes to get at least one candidate elected in Erzurum. Election work in the city and village are carried out every day. HDP candidates for the city, Mehmet Kasım Fırat, Zeliha Dündar, Cemal Kara, Cüneyt Laloğlu visited the province of Karayazı. Tradesmen showed great interest in the HDP program and shared their views with the HDP candidates. 

Bitlis

HDP Bitlis candidates Mahmut Celadet Gaydalı, Zahit Mutlu and the party members continued with their election campaign. They first met the people in the province of Adilcevaz. Following visits to tradesmen, the HDP members opened the district election office. 
Party’s election offices were then opened in Ovakışla district and Ahlat. 

Amed

HDP candidate for Amed, Semra Güzel, visited shopkeepers and tradesmen in Ekinciciler Cadde, in Yenişehir. The HDP party workers handed out leaflet with the party’s manifesto and photos of Presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş.

Şırnak

HDP Şırnak Provincial Organization organized a city tour with candidates Nuran İmir, Serdar Kuni, Hüseyin Kaçmaz and Hasan Özgüneş in the cities of Idil, Cizre and Silopi. Candidates were accompanied by HDP Şırnak current MP Leyla Birlik in the Karalar (Araban-İdil).

The city tour that started in the center of Idil and continued in Cizre and Silopi districts. The candidates were welcomed by a warm crowd chanting slogans. 
Children led the way on their bicycles carrying posters of presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş.

Mardin

HDP Mardin candidates Pero Dündar, Tuma Çelik, Gülbin Şahin Dağhan and Dilaver İnal, met in the Mydiat to opened a party’s election office. Before the opening, the delegation had visited Midyat Bazaar and handed out leaflets and the HDP manifesto. 

HDP Mardin Provincial co-chair Ali Sincar said: “Midyat peoples, beliefs and cultures represent the beautiful mosaic which is democracy. The people of Mydiat would vote for the HDP on 24 June because the HDP is everybody’s house”.

HDP candidate, Pero Dündar said that Midyat is an example of different cultures and traditions getting together in the HDP. “This government - he said - is afraid of the HDP and its various cultures”. 

Speaking in Syriac, Tuma Çelik said: “For the first time in this country we can run an election campaign using the Syriac language. This is possible thanks to the HDP”.
