The provincial organizations of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) have launched a 3-day vigil at the DBP office in Antep to protest the detention of DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır and DBP executives.
Speaking during the vigil that started at the DBP headquarters in Antep, HDP’s Antep Provincial Co-Chair Avni Binici revealed that DBP Antep Provincial Co-Chairs Ethem Önal and Zeliha Aslan were detained.
Binici said: "The AKP-MHP government continues political genocide operations against our peoples and our party. We are constantly subjected to similar detentions, attacks and oppression. We, our party HDP and our ally DBP, have launched a 3-day vigil in Antep in response to this oppressive political atmosphere. We urge all our people and the public to take part in our vigil. We will protect our party."
Binici added: "The AKP-MHP government will lose ground as we continue to protect our party. If we keep our stance, faith, will and determination to fight and our commitment to our values, the AKP-MHP will not be able to survive in this country. Now, the government has only 5 months left. After 5 months, we will send the AKP-MHP government to the garbage heap of history."
The vigil at the DBP headquarters in the Bey neighbourhood will continue until tomorrow, Sunday.
